Royal Armouries, Fort Nelson

Fort Nelson is an imposing defensive site high above Portsmouth Harbour, expertly managed by the Royal Armouries and housing its big guns collection. The learning service offers a range of sessions and opportunities, covering periods from the coming of the Romans to the defeat of Nazi Germany, where costumed interpreters bring the past to life. They 'become' Florence Nightingale, a soldier or an ancient warrior for the day, to the delight and - crucially - to enhance the learning of their young audience.
